My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic Season 2 Episode 23-Ponyville Confidential

Pretty good. I'm not usually that much of a fan of the CMC episodes, but this was a very good one. Several incredible jokes, and a good ending make for a very worthwhile episode.

Young Justice Episode 23-Insecurity

Things are getting dark and more serious every episode. This episode was well-made, but it did not make me happy. Of course, that's the point. So I guess it succeeded. Now I'm all anxious for next week's episode, as we wind down to the season finale.

Community

Yeah, I just finished watching the new episodes of Community on Hulu. I had no idea until an hour ago that the show was back on the air, and I am so freaking happy. As always it is hilarious, and I am really enjoying where there's taking all the characters. So much development was done, and not all in a happy way. I can't wait for the next episode, already aired, to get on Hulu so I can watch that too. I cannot adequetly express in typing how happy I am that my favortie live-action show comedy is back on the air, coming out with new episodes. Laters.

Avatar: The Legend of Korra-Episode 2 A Leaf in the Wind

My body was not ready for this episode. It was amazing. The Pro-Bending was incredible, from the boxing-like forms and the rules, which are interesting and make sense. Tenzin and Korra were fleshed out more, and I liked what I found. Bolin and Mako are both cool, and I can't wait to see more of them. Overall, a great episode.

My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic Season 2 Episode 22-Hurricane Fluttershy

Way better than last week for me. It was Fluttershy-centric, which I love. Fluttershy was a tree, there was a ton of Derpy, with still derped eyes! Woo! Also, I really liked the message of the episode, and it felt very realistic in not being too optimistic but just the right amount. Really good, very enjoyable.

Young Justice Episode 22-Agendas

This episode rocked. Every time they do an episode with Superboy they make me like him more, and with this one they solidified him for me as a great protagonist. This episode rocked, brought in a great villain, Match, and did so without making him silly. Be back in 20 with word on new ponies.

Avatar: The Legend of Korra-Episode 1 Welcome to Republic City

Holy shit. This has cast away the tiny doubts I had that this series will not rock. Korra is a great protagonist, with a lot of personality, and a total badass as well. Tenzin is pretty cool too, and I could not tell he was voiced by J. Jonah Jameson the whole time. The guy does not sound like he normally does, and it works. Katara is as awesome as ever. Chief Bei Fong is definitely Toph's daughter, and is being set-up to be pretty interesting too. The Big Bad Amon sounds pretty kickass, and he's voiced by Steve Blum. The animation is incredible. The soundtrack really impressed me, combining the asian flavor of the original with a new 20's city score, and it blends well and adds a lot to the scenery and action. Overall, a great start to what will most likely be an amazing series.

My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic Season 2 Episode 21-Dragon Quest

Pretty good. I usually like Spike episodes, and this one is no different. It isn't as good as the episode previous, but a decently good episode anyway.

Young Justice Episode 21-Image

Very good episode. It definitely helped develop Miss Martian as a character, and not all in nice ways. It's good to see she isn't perfect. Plus, they finally gave her backstory, which I had guessed a while back. Plus, I seriously jumped in joy when the words "Logan Nature Preservation" were said, and a kid showed up. The storyline with that is going to rock. Overall, good episode. Not as good as last episode, but pretty awesome nonetheless.

Young Justice Episode 20-Coldhearted

This is probably my favorite episode so far. It Kid Flash-centric, and had a ton of tidbits of Flash stuff from the comics that I am so glad they included. It was especially good because I was unsure of the outcome the entire episode, because I know now from last episode that they could kill Kid Flash or have the bad guys win, and still air that shit. That unsureness made the ending so much better, and is more credence for my theory that more shows need to understand that if you throw in major character twists every once-in-a-while, it leaves the fate of every episode up in the air. In Front of the Silver Screen-Batman Year One

((First off, I will sadly be unable to post every day or do theme months for the foreseeable future. They may come back, but right now I am working on something extra special. I'll still post when I can.))

Early on I was hating this movie. The idea is that is has two storylines: Bruce Wayne's first year as Batman and Jim Gordan's first year in Gotham. The problem I had was pretty much exclusively in the Batman storyline. The new voice actor, Ben McKenzie, doesn't suit him very well. It isn't helped that all the early scenes with him as infuriating to me, because they're done in my least favorite form of Batman writing: dark monologues and brooding. Goddamn it Frank! It was hurting me hearing all this stupid narrating being done by Batman. Also, Catwoman is a prostitute. Wow Frank, wow. And don't say that he wanted a more realistic and gritty form of Batman, because I'll call bullshit there too. The first scene with him is him training by punching a pile of bricks into dust with no damage on his hand and roundhouse kicking a healthy tree in half. Bullshit.

However, I really enjoyed the Gordan storyline. (With exception to the part when he cheated on his wife. Fuck you Miller.) The action was all really good, the story was on average decent. I guess I just really don't like that new voice for Batman or the all the monologues. Overall, it's just okay. It's probably my least favorite of all the DC Animated Films. I'd still recommend it to general Batman fans, and if you're at all a fan of Miller's writing, check it out. Personally I don't like it that much.

Young Justice Episode 19-Misplaced

As I've said previously, I'm a big fan of this ongoing show. And now that it's coming out every week again, I thought I'd share my thoughts on each episode as it came out. This episode was pretty good. It had some good lines, Captain Marvel got more screentime, the plot moved things along, and the action was pretty good. Oh, and we got a new team member. Awesome.

Note 1)Sorry for no updates for two days and barely anything today. I'm working hard on some side-projects, and college is as much of a bitch as ever.

Note 2)If you were to see any...postings on another blog I happen to own, remember that this blog and my YouTube channel are both out of character and game. Just a though,

What is Shonen?

A good place to start with this month. Shonen is a term used to define a demographic aimed at by Mange and Anime. It is composed of pre-teen and teenaged boys. While there is no definite way to tell what is Shonen and what isn't just by watching it, there are some basic traits that show up in quite a few. This month I'll mostly be reviewing the 'typical' shonen anime, those that display proudly the trademarks of the demographic and get very popular doing so. That's all I can say for today, kind of busy. Sleep and all that jazz. Until tomorrow. Oh, and one more thing!
