Rainbow Dash is woken up by Pinkie Pie one day for a very important reason: The Pinkie Sense has told her the world will end today, and everypony else blew her off when she told them about it, so she wants to do every single thing she's ever wanted to do with Rainbow Dash. There is some light hints of shipping, but that's not what it's about. What really works here is the comedy, the tearjerking, and the amazing heartwarming conclusion. If you took out the light shipping aspects, it could easily be a half episode of the actual show, and the moral would be easily one of the best and deepest the show has ever had.
